Goodbye 2005

The last day of 2005....hard to believe!
This holiday season has been rough on me. The saturday following thanksgiving I contracted the stomach flu. The monday after Christmas I contracted a...cold(?)..I guess that's what to call it. I wasn't the only one. Bobby, my mother, my sister, my nephew, my daughter, all got it too. So tonight I will drink a toast to good health for 2006!

Christmas Countdown

Season's greetings! Just a few days till the Miller family Christmas gathering. AKA: "The Feast O' the Hunk of Meat" Yay!
Well, Bobby finally got my washing machine running again. Thank God! It has been out of commission for about 3 weeks. The part came in yesterday and he fixed it last night. He also put a new dryer vent hose on. Our dryer does not sit against an outside wall, so the vent hose has to go down through the floor into the basement, travel about 15 ft and then go outside. So it was quite a job doing that. I had noticed that it was taking twice as long to dry things, the hose was all clogged up with lint, and it being so long...there was no cleaning it out. So I am a happy housewife today, just doing laundry like crazy, stripping the clothes right off the kids backs and throwing them in the machines!
Whoa...how sad is that? I'm ecstatic over laundry.... :P

On the Warpath..oops, excuse my politcal incorectness

So, there is an article in last nights paper regarding the brewha over indian and indian related nicknames used by Indiana high schools. Seems the NCAA has is requiring teams to remove said nicknames or logos from team, cheerleader and band uniforms in postseason tournaments. My my my..how overly sensitive we have become. Next, we will have the PETA people claiming that using animal names and likenesses is contributing to the subordination of our fellow mammals.
My mother in law told me last night that the news reported the new anti-smoking stance adopted by the Westin hotel chain. No smoking allowed in any areas.
I guess if I stay there and want to smoke..I will have to go outside...and around the corner. I better bundle up. I will wear my Redskins sweatshirt, topped by my rabbit fur coat. Hmmm.........
Did you ever see the two lists of character traits that describe two historically famous world leaders? One list contained these attributes: teetotaler, nonsmoker,non swearing, etc. The other these: heavy drinker, smoker, gambler, etc. The two world leaders were HITLER and CHURCHILL...
Oh, by the way,,,INDIANA means "land of the indians"
HA HA HA>>> guess we will have to rethink that ;)
