Movie Reviews

Hello blog fans! I have seen a few movies lately and thought I would share my opinions about them. "Being Julia" starrring Annette Bening. I liked this movie. It is set in Londen in the 30's and is about a famous stage actress (Julia=Annette Bening) her husband is a producer. She has an affair with a man young enough to be her son...and so on....I liked it, but I suppose not many would. I just really like Annette Bening. "Sideways" This is a LONG movie! Kind of a drama comedy. Set in California.....two middle aged single guys go for a week long bachelor trip to the wine country.....the would be grooms main objective is to get laid....his best man is a neurotic sort who just wants to taste some good wine, play golf, and hear from a publishing house that they will publish his book. Some parts of it are laugh out loud hysterical! It is slow moving but I liked it. Ummm, let me think...oh yeah,,,and "Closer" with Jude Law and Julia Roberts,,,good movie,,,warning though,,,very explicit sexual language,,,,4 main characters and their intertwined relationships....great acting,,,,in fact the acting was great in all 3 of these films. One film I rented and didn't get a chance to watch was "High Roller" a true story about some young hot shot poker player named Stu 'something',,I forget....looked interesting just didn't get it watched. And by the way...movies make me think of popcorn,,and I have recently discovered the epicurean delight of microwave kettle corn. Delicious!
hey,,,,leave a comment!!
P.S. RONIA...I LOVE YOU!!

meditations for April 15

Matthew 22:15-22
Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. "Teacher", they said, " we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren't swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are. Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?" But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, "You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? Show me the coin used for paying the tax." They brought him a denarius, and he asked them, "Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?" "Caesar's", they replied. Then he said to them, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's, and to God what is God's" When they heard this they were amazed. So they left him and went away.

Matthew 17;24-27
After Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the collectors of the two-drachma tax came to Peter and asked, "Doesn't your teacher pay the temple tax?"
"Yes he does", he replied. When Peter came into the house, Jesus was the first to speak. "What do you think Simon?" he asked. "From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes-from their own sons or from others?" "From others," Peter answered. "Then the son are exempt," Jesus said to him. "But so that we may not offend them, go to the lake and throw out your line. Take the first fish you catch; open its mouth and you will find a four-drachma coin. Take it and give it to them for my tax and yours."

So.....I'm goin fishin......hehehe
Peace and love to all who have big tax bills today!
...and to all who get refunds...

Fool's gold

Hey all you Kingery blog fans! Time for me to update y'all on the happenings.
We had a great trip to Florida. Wish we'd had more sunshine down there, but the temps were good (70's mainly). Never the less we had a good time. Especially at the dog track. Bobby played a big wad on a long shot boxed trifecta and WON! BIG!!!
Sooooo,,,,first thing we did was contact the real estate agent who rented us the condo and told her we wanted to make an offer on it......WOW....she told us that the people who own it have hit some major hard times and were willing to sacrifice it at one third the market price for a cash offer! Woo-hoo!! We still had quite a chunk o'change and stopped in the Mercede's dealership down there and traded in the rondezvous for a big SUV....got to ride home in style...yessiree!
We were sure glad to get home after that long ride......and much to our joy..we discovered upon arrival at home that Mason (our cat) had birthed a litter of kittens...and what a litter....15 little cuties.....the biggest one weighed 3 pounds!! The runt is so tiny...about the size of a finger nail....well I do go on and on, don't I? All I really want to say is....April first is a fun day!
