stormy

.....mmmmm..what a wonderful rolling thunderstorm this morning. The kind that makes you snuggle into your pillow with a smile...listening to the birds chirping in between downpours and thunder claps...so cozy.
I just finished making chicken salad...want the recipe? Here goes....

one chicken...cooked and deboned
one packet of slivered almonds
about 1/8 cup thinly sliced celery
about 10 large red seedless grapes
(I cut the grapes lengthwise, then halfwise, then slice thinly)
about 2 cups miracle whip
stir it all up..and enjoy!

Never cooked and deboned a chicken? Here's how...
first of all buy 2 whole chickens....(might as well do 2 at once, then freeze one for future)
first..pull the yucky packet out of inside of chicken...I just throw it away (real old timers do 'God knows what' with that)
get a really big pot..big enough for both of them...put chickens in...breast down...fill with water....and a couple tablespoons of bouielion(I know that isn't spelled right..and I just went to check my pantry and I'm out of it so I can't..you know...spell check it..) also..some pepper, some sage and maybe some paprika....bring to a simmer and keep it low simmering for 2 hours or so...to check for doneness take a meat fork and poke it into the breast part..if done it should go in easily. When done..pour off liquid..(you can strain it and freeze it for future use..it's called "chicken broth")..let chickens cool..kinda half way dismantle to speed cooling process....take meat off bones...one chicken at a time, cut into bite size pieces with kitchen shears....freeze extra chicken for further recipe use. Really it is easy and so much better (and cheaper) than that canned chicken!
Has anybody made the sneaky pete recipe??? Leave comments!!
